A Study on the Distribution of version Quotient in High School Students

Abstract
This study was performed to obtain the information necessary for mental health care, which is likely to be ignored in schools, by Test of Version Quotient base on Jung¢¥s psychological type. The total number of 2870 high school students in some part of Chonnam, consisting of 1512 male students and 1538 female students, was surveyed from June to August, 1983 and the results were summarized as follows.
1. Both male and female students showed remarkably more introversion than extroversion (1:6 in male students, 1:9 in female students) and female students showed more introversion than extroversion compared with male students. The average of version quotient was 94. 1 in male students and 88.8 in female students.
2. The students in the city showed more extroversion than the students in the rural area. The average of version quotient was 92.8 for the students in the city and 90.6 for the students in the rural area.
3. The students in better economic condition showed more extroversion than the students otherwise.
4. Those students who go to the college showed more extroversion than those who get a job after graduation of high school.
5. Both male and female students showed more introversion by oneself (55.8 % ) than extroversion by oneself (30.5%) and the percentage of introversion group by others (50.7 %) was higher than that of extroversion group by others (29.5 %) the percentage of the students who showed extroversion both by oneself and others was 29.9% and the percentage of the students who showed introversion both by oneself and others 58.7%, so the total accordance rate by oneself and by others in extroversion and introversion groups was 88.6%.
